Hypospadias is a condition present from birth, and with modern pediatric surgical techniques, children can achieve normal function and appearance. Our approach focuses on gentle care, precision, and complete support for both the child and parents.

We walk with you through every step — from diagnosis to recovery — ensuring clarity, confidence, and comfort.

Understanding Hypospadias — What Parents Need to Know

Hypospadias is a condition where the opening of the urethra is not located at the tip of the penis but on the underside. It may also be associated with curvature of the penis (chordee).

This condition varies in severity and is usually identified at birth. Early evaluation helps in planning the right treatment approach.

Why Early Correction Matters for Your Child’s Future

Timely treatment helps ensure normal urination and proper development as the child grows. Early correction also improves cosmetic appearance and confidence later in life.

Delaying treatment may lead to difficulties in urination or long-term complications. Early intervention ensures better functional and psychological outcomes.

Signs That Deserve Early Attention

Parents may notice certain physical differences during routine care or diaper changes. Recognizing these early helps in timely diagnosis and treatment.

If you observe any unusual features, consulting a pediatric specialist can provide clarity and reassurance.

Specialists emphasize that children’s surgical conditions differ significantly from adult cases, and treating them without pediatric expertise may increase complications.

Commonly the minor or distal varients are corrected in one surgery and proximal or severe ones need more atleast 2 surgeries

At cocoon kids we adopt techniques to minimise the risk of fistula formation. Fistula means a minor leak in the new urethra tube created. That will need an extra surgery to close. At cocoonkids we make sure the fistula rates are the least by using good techniques and with atleast two experienced surgeons being available for surgery.
Post Surgery Children will have a urinary catheter connected to a bag or left to drop into a diaper. There will be medicines for pain relief, avoid constipation and bladder spasms. The dressing change commonly happens on day 5 and catheter removal on day 10 or 14 of surgery. Managing the child during this time is not difficult, if adopting methods that we are cocoonkids would suggest you.
